If you're going there to eat and drink at the bar it's fine. But of you're there for a sit down dinner....well then GOOD LUCK. It's so confusing. You can go up to the counter and order like you're in a fast food restaurant or you can sit down and get waiter service. The big problem is that there is no one that cares enough to explain it. I sat at a table that was designated for table service and after being ignored by the wait staff for 15 minutes (while the waitresses were just standing there gabbing to each other) I was told that I had to go to the counter order and pay for my food, and they would bring me my food when it was ready. I also stated that I wanted a cocktail and they pointed to the bar. The barmaid was very pleasant, she made me my drink and I carried it back to my table. When I sat down the waitress told me my food was ready and waiting for me at the counter. I had to get up and get it myself! What really irked me was that I was with my very ill sister and my 3 year old grandson. I had to keep leaving them at the table to serve us. When I left I went to the barmaid and complained to her about the set up. She was very nice and I know it was beyond her control but I needed to vent. I tipped her very well and as we were walking out the 2 waitresses that were gabbing were overheard by my sister and me saying "that's the lady that stiffed us" I cracked up laughing and walked out and have not been back since nor do I have any intention of ever going back. So Surf Taco, thanks for the experience. This was at the Surf Taco in Jackson. I don't know how ant other ones are but I won't be trying any of them in the foreseeable future.
Great food. Relaxing atmosphere. Has a bar! Staff very friendly and helpful. Live music on the weekends.
Craft beer, awesome margaritas and killer food, Surf Taco Jackson is the greatest. This location is the only ST with a full bar and with waiter service in the bar area only. Live music, family friendly, large screens for sports, take out and an upstairs lounge...you just have to go.
Amazing service! Casey was a tremendous help and made a phenomenal recommendation that we would have missed without her help! Buffalo chicken taco second to none other, garlic shrimp taco was fabulous. The Tsunami was a burrito that three people can eat and probably not finish. FRESH INGREDIENTS! Loved it and we will be back often!
This is kind of a mixed review. I really wish that I could give this give this place five stars. But there's just one thing stopping me from doing that and I'll get to that in a minute. First the good stuff. Establishment is clean. They serve alcohol. The prices of the alcohol are very reasonable. They have a fairly large your selection. I usually get wine, a Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon and they have pretty good wine. You can sit in the bar area which is of course more adult and have the waitress or bartender serve you your drinks. If you choose you can sit in the section it's more family oriented with young children and go to the bar grab your own drink and bring it back to the table. All of the food is very reasonably priced and I've never had anything bad there. I've been there about a dozen times. Same thing goes for the food if you sit in the bar area you can order from a waitress if you sit in the more family-oriented area you can order from the counter. Food usually arrives pretty quickly. Staff is very friendly. This is my only issue. I went a few months ago and had seen on their website they had a coconut shrimp taco. When I got there I tried ordering it and they told me they had no idea what I was talking about and did not have that. After a bit of a lengthy conversation with the waitress because we were sitting in the bar area I convinced her to check the website she did and returned and told me yes they did have coconut shrimp tacos and she apologized. I ordered the coconut shrimp tacos and they were delicious. So last week I went back with my son and his fiancee once again I tried ordering the coconut shrimp tacos. Only this time no matter how hard I tried to convince them that they did have them because they were on their website they told me they did not. At the time I could not get my phone to bring up the website to show them. I was a little disappointed but I did get a different kind of shrimp taco and it was very good. When I got home I looked up their website and found of course well you know it the coconut shrimp tacos. I was a little upset by this because I really wanted them. Needless to say I took a screenshot and the next time I go back hopefully I will be getting my coconut shrimp tacos. Like I said I'd like to give them 5 stars but they really should know what they've got on their menu online. And I can pretty much guarantee you but if I could have brought it up on my phone once again somebody would have said oh okay I guess we make them and they would have made them for me. In conclusion I do recommend this place but what I would like to say is if you want anything that's on their online menu or if you really want to try those coconut shrimp tacos you better take a screenshot!
